Loose Threads began in the early 1990s as a small group of quilters meeting in the local library to learn new designs and techniques. As the group grew, they moved to the Methodist Church for more space and eventually settled into their current home in the new Mayville United Methodist Church building in 2003.
Today, the club continues its tradition of creativity, community, and service. Members craft heart pillows for patients recovering from heart and breast cancer surgery at St. Mary’s Hospital in Saginaw, and in 2025, they will donate nearly 100 quilted lap robes to the residents of the Tuscola County Convalescent Center. They also host their Annual Quilt Show and Luncheon, which will celebrate its 34th year in April 2026.
Whether you’re an experienced quilter or brand new to sewing, you’ll find a warm, encouraging group ready to welcome you.
Meets: 1st Wednesday (business meeting) and 3rd Wednesday (“sit and sew” day) at 10 AM
Led by: Nancy Burns (President)
